FEBRUARY 2009 DTV switch over.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In February of 2009, all US TV stations will cease analog TV transmissions, and switch to digital TV, and not all stations will be in HD, there will still be standard definition (SD) channels available, what this means is that if you have an old analog TV set and want to still use it you have to get a converter box for it, this applies to ONLY the off air TV signals, you can still use the cable box, FTA receiver or subbed receiver to watch television.

And it was brought to my attention by Tveng one of our senior members that the transition date to all digital TV signals for Canadian TV stations is August 31, 2011, however if your on the US/Canadian border and your watching US TV stations you will need a converter box by February 2009 to still receive those channels.

Thanks to Tveng for the correction.
