Thanks pete, i had not even thought about it...
Reminder ..... All Cell Phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies this month and you will start to receive sales calls
YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this , call the following number from your cell phone
1-866-580-3625 or 888-382-1222
It is the National DO NOT CALL list it will only take a minute of your time
It blocks your number for (5) years
You Must call from the CELL phone of the number you want to have blocked ,
You Cannot Call From A different number
Or Go Online at www,lnnte-dncl.gc.ca
Just to ADD
Remember telemarketers can still call you for 31 days after your Phone #or #s have been put on the do not call list after that if they call you , you can file a complaint
I did mine online its easy you can do as many #s as you want on Line , Land Line, Wireless and Fax

That is the most annoying thing! And it does drain your minutes. Good info Pete!
I had no idea this was going to happen with cell phones. As usual Pete you've come through with some very useful information.

I signed up too, though whenever I see a number on the caller ID that I don't recognize, I simply don't answer. If they leave messages, I simply delete them without lending them an ear. On my land line, sometimes, I like to have a little fun with them. When I answer the phone, and determine that the flunkie on the other end is one of "them", I interrupt and say "hold on just a moment", while I go about whatever it was that I was doing, leaving the idiot hanging the whole time. Once I hear the loud, fast busy signal eminating from the receiver, I hang up the phone, satisfied that I've once again thwarted (and aggravated) another tele-pest. And if I've been drinking, I'm not above rewarding their efforts with a loud, long duration, duodenal belch! Happily, thus far, I've received no such calls while eating chili...![]()

Thanks Pete, much appreciated. I had no idea such a list existed. I thought it was just something I had to live with. I don't generally answer unknown numbers either, but it's even a pain in the ass to delete the messages they leave, so if I can keep a few from calling even better. Thanks again.

I never answer unknown numbers either but I still registered my home phone, cell phone, and my parent's phone which will make them happy since they don't have call display.

Thanks Pete. I have a business phone and don't even want any hassle from telemarketers. If i get a call, will give it a shot....
Book'em Dano
Thank you PETE, I got 4 cell phones and this info will help.
Sometimes I just have no success! But sometimes I do!!!!!!
Great info Pete, should save alot of people from from these scam artists.
I heard that the Gov't. just didn't release the # to the telemarketers they sold the numbers. The same as Canada Post sells the change of addresses to marketing companies.
that sucks a lot
Thanks Pete
I always thought that was you calling me and I just dint answer![]()
I registered mine last year and so far so good. The only thing I get now are those annoying calls from ad companies that get my number from an ad on craigs list for a truck i have for sale. thats annoying enough though
i registered my number so telemarketers dont call!
its good times.

Got this info a couple months ago.....yes called & registered.....also heard it was a way of the government to collect a list of cell phone #'s w/o requesting from providers....not sure either way...but I do think about it...like the cameras & mics in dtv convertion boxes & new tvs being sold...
