I don't think it will be too far down the road that the story will be shown to be a hoax. Whether on the program that originally ran it, or in one of the hoax busters like Snopes.

Re: Very Sad: Cheerleader Gets A Flu Shot & Now....

just so you guys know. I know a cop from my church who got the flu shot and almost died. He is paralized from the waist down, and has the power grip of a 3 year old. Its really sad and frightening. NO flu shot for me !!!!!!!!!!

As I understand it, this flu vaccine isn't a lot different than any other flu vaccine other than containing the h1n1 strain. The shots contain the virus but it is dead and your body just sees it as a threat and has an immune reponse. It's funny that the nose spray one is the one they give to kids a lot because they're afraid of needles, but it actually contains a small amount of the live virus. Anyway, guinea pig tests would just show what they already know which is that a small minority will have an adverse reaction. To them the risk outweighs the benefits but to those who have a bad reaction it can be devastating.

Yes, and as I'd stated earlier, a co worker of mine had a similar paralysis that affected his lungs and he DID die. But think back about an arthritic treatment called Vioxx. It was admitted to have a 6% mortality rate, yet it seemed to take forever to have it removed from the shelves after people began to suffer heart problems from it. And this flu shot isn't nearly as high a risk. I'm not suggesting one way or another about it, just that there appears to be lots of knee jerk reactions regarding the shots; be they for H1N1 or the common seasonal flu.

I find it strange that she can run forward and walk backwards without a sign of disability. Also when she is doing either she can talk just fine. Weird
