Dish Network Adds Hustler HD

Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2009) -- Dish Network has added Hustler HD to its lineup of high-def channels.

That's according to the an article by Multichannel News.

This is not the first time that a satellite TV service has offered an adult network in high-def. Several years ago, Dave TV carried Spice HD for a little more than a year. However, Dave TV now does not carry an adult channel in HD.

The Voom satellite service offered Playboy HD in its lineup of HD channels before going out of business.

Dish Network has yet to add Hustler HD under its Adult Programming section at its web site so no pricing was available this morning. Normally, Dish charges a large monthly or nightly fee to watch an adult channel.

Hustler HD, which launched on May 1, said in a press release that it will not simply deliver standard-def movies on an HD channel, as some non-adult network have done in the past.

"HustlerHD has the most true HD adult content from the top adult studios with no up-converted movies," said LFP Inc and Hustler TV president Michael H. Klein. "That will ensure the highest buy rate among the HD enthusiasts."

The channel is owned by Hustler Magazine mogul Larry Flynt.
