| Re: burning movies from lime wire it would depend on what the format of the movie is. If you want to create a standard DVD then you would have to convert those movies to a compliant mpeg2 file. if they are DIVX Home Theater format, and your DVD player is as well, then just burn them to a cd or DVD and they will play. I found that "ulead DVD movie factory" does a good job with MPEG, DIVX or XVID format files. It won't convert RMVB,MOV,FLV,MKV, or OGG format files |

| Re: burning movies from lime wire i have used roxio to burn avi. and mpg's to dvd's and it makes them in to dvd format.

| Re: burning movies from lime wire First, as Bansheeman has said, you should need to know what format the video is. Most likely it is a .avi. An .avi movie will be around 700 MB. An .iso is much larger (around 4 GB), but burn a lot faster as it is already converted. I myself have always used Nero, however Roxio, covertxtodvd, or others will work for this. I would also like to suggest not using limewire. Torrents are a lot faster and more efficient. You will need a program called Utorrent which is small and free. It acts like your download manager. Next, go to a site called torrentz dot com. I would suggest playing around with that. |

| Re: burning movies from lime wire Something else to consider if you have a dvd player or surround sound with a usb port, put the movies on a flash drive and watch them from there. You can pick up a cheap one that does divx and several other supported formats and you don't have to spend the time to convert to dvd. If you truly like the movie and want to keep it, then you can burn it to dvd. If you are like me, I burnt many movies that were not worth the dvd-r they were burnt on.

| Re: burning movies from lime wire I have to agree with Jim I've also always used Nero specifically Nerovision. It converts and burns the movie. I would also use torrents. Be safe whether you choose to stick with Limewire or go to torrents. Neither one is safer then the other but there are measures you can take to make it a little safer. Itshidden.com is a free VPN (Virtual Private Network) and Peerguardian come to mind. They are both freeware and a thin measure of security to make it harder to track you down. Keep in mind downloading movies specifically copyrighted movies is a civil offense carrying huge fines. Be safe in what ever method you choose big brother is definitely watching!!!

| Re: burning movies from lime wire Your Stand alone DVD player MUST be able to play DIVX or MPEG4. Usually they will have the DIVX logo on them. This means that it is certified to the DIVX Home Theater profile. Also you AVI files must also conform IE they MUST NOT be larger that 720x480, and they must use either DIVX or XVID codecs. |

| Re: burning movies from lime wire kitkat please edit your post, live links are not permitted most stand alone dvd players will read a burned dvd as long as it is burned on a dvd-r disk, do not use dvd+r convert x to dvd should do the trick

| Re: burning movies from lime wire If you get a cheap DVD player that has DIVX support, then you wont need to convert (avi ,divx, xvid files) and just burn onto DVD-r. That way you can fit mulitple movies onto 1 DVD-r. I have a Panasonic dv-400 that I used and it works great for that. |

| Re: burning movies from lime wire I like Usenet to download movies. its fast and the quality uploaded to the site is for the most part excellent. then I do what BBY said ... I use a flash drive to watch on the tv. If the quality and the movie are worth converting to DVD ... I use "convert X to DVD"
