| chantau1 ,,, I have read and been told that you do not need virtual memory depending on how much system memory you have ,, you can turn virtual memory/pagefile off,,,and speed up your system,,, You can't add virtual memory only increase or decrease or turn off,,,less is usually better,,your system should only use virtual memory in rare cases when all other memory is not available ,,,,then is uses your hard drive for virtual memory if you have 1gb of system memory and an add-on video graphics card, you should be able to set the pagefile very low ,,,or off When you maxed out your pagefile ,,you allocated a very large amount of hard drive space for virtual memory,,,which is way slower than system memory,,, Try to decrease the page file size and see what happens,,,,, Is this a new OS install,,? Keep on aRockin,,,'
