External hard drives for PVR

I am looking for external hard drive so I can record movies on my PVR what should I buy and does any one have a hard drive for sale. I don't know much about the system just got it and I thought the drive was built in like the B3V PVR but it's not. I would appreciate anyones feedback Thanks a bunch!

I don't know what you are running but I'm useing a seagate 80gb hard drive set up on FAT32 and its worked flawlessly. I'v read you can go up to 500gb and I'm running a CS7000. Hope this helps.

I have a Western Digital Portable Hard drive (250 GB). Its called WD Passport
Its white in color.
I use a 160 GB for my CNX Duo.
Cant find any white one these days.

If you try future shop you can get a good deal there when they have sales on the go. I got a 250gb for less than $100 a whille ago. They have them on sale now. Check their site.

Thanks for the information, but I have 1 question. How much space does a regular movie take up on a hard drive *(average 2 hour time slot)*.Just so I can see how big to get!!!!

I read somewhere a general rule of thumb is 1 gig = about 1 hr of record time

I've found a 500gig Western Digital are they any good, with the big card swap coming might need a lot of space to record in advance, I don't have any other tv.

Geeks . com or pricewatch has excellent prices on drives and other various items

geeks has specials on shipping and drives almost weekly,
