CW700 Weak signals...

This has been happening to me for a week now. I have some channels coming just fine on the same satellite but other channel just freeze or show weak signal. I have checked the switches and cable and everything seems good. Plus I don't think it's the switches or the hardware since some channels just come fine on the same satellite. Could someone please advice what to do.

Thanks in advance.

Question Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Are you trying to run 2 receivers off the same dish ? If so try turning one receiver OFF on back and see if the problem persists. If it works OK you need a multi switch. If you only have one receiver I say you need to tweak the dish a tad.

Thumbs up Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Go out to the dish. Mark the arm or pole with a pencil or sharpie. Move it a tiny bit to the left or right till you get a better signal. If you can get an assistant to move the dish while you look at the TV. Cell phone or even walkie talkies very handy. By marking it first you have a return point. Happy Testing !

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

I hav adjusted the dish and signal strenght has gone to 80% but the quality still lingers around 60%...i get some channels with this signal quality but other just freeze on both 119 and 110...i think it's the signal quality that is causing the problem...can any one tell me how to improve the signal quality?

Question Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Check that the LNB Freq is 11250 for both 119 and 110. Are there any trees or other obstructions blocking the signal. You sound like you're doing the right thing. Maybe relocate the dish might help. Happy Testing !

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

It takes a lot of patients to tweak a dish you have to go very slow when moving it the signal you are trying to get is only the size of a pencil lead that's why you only move it a hair at a time , I find it much easier to take a small tv and stb/receiver to the location of the dish and lock onto the sat signal that way you can see what your signal/Quality strength is

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

You have the LNB type set to OCS DP but you have 110 set to diseq 3. IF you have a dish pro LNB it should be set to diseq 2. Also if its dish pro lose the Sw21 and connect the coax directly to the LNB. The diseq is built in and 119 is port 1 / 110 is port 2. And why the SW 21. Do you have another dish?. Do you have 2 dishes? If you have 2 dishes and are using the SW21 set one to SW21 dish1 and the other to SW21 dish2. If you dont have dishpro LNBs the lnb type should be set to Normal.

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Does I have had these setting for a while and everything was coming fine before. Since I am not familiar with most of the terms and they work I need more info on what you just said...

diseq is set to 3 becuase that is where it's connected in the switch. I have changed it to diseq 2 but it still doesn't help

I think the coax is directly connected to LNB unless i am totally missing your point here

I believe i have dishpro lnbs but how can i tell the difference

I have one dish...so do i not have it correct. I think I do.

Question Re: CW700 Weak signals...

So is it the LNB on the right of that one ? There are 2 pictures ?

settings should be

119 OCS DP diseq 1
110 OCS DP diseq 2

Maybe you have the wrong eye pointed at 110. Does this look like the right one ? And tell me does it say D/P or dishpro on it ?

Exclamation Re: CW700 Weak signals...

You have a Dish Pro Plus LNB. Now I see tha problem. There are 3 ports on back. 2 on the left and 1 on the right. The one on the right is not an "output" but and "input" for adding another dish. This LNB has the diseq built in. Settings follow.

119 lnb type OCS DP/ diseq 1/Legacy None
110 lnb type OCS DP /diseq 2/Legacy None

* forget port 3 at this time *
Forget the SW21 switch also.

Connect one ( 1 ) coax directly to either of the ports on the left side if looking at the reverse side.

If you cant get it to work with the above settings you either A. Have a defective LNB. B. Don't have the dish aimed properly.

Question Re: CW700 Weak signals...

That is a diseq switch. You cant run a dish pro LNB through it. If in fact you have a dish pro and a seperate dish for 61.5 you need a SW21 switch. Please while you have the camera out take a picture of your dishes and LNBs too. Could just be you got a bad switch since you say it worked before. Also we been at this for 2 weeks and you just now mentioned the 61.5 dish. This changes everything. I would start out by replacing the switch.

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Yeah i have two dishes, sorry didn't mentioned that before. 61.5 is working flawlessly and like i said earlier and so were 110 and 119. I changed the switch but it didnot make any difference. I'll take pics of my dishes and LNB's and paste it shortly. thanks for your help and patience for helping me out.

Re: CW700 Weak signals...

Are there any trees near your dish? or lims above it that could be blocking your signal? the signel come in to the dish on an angle not straight on so if there is a tree above it, behind it or beside it, it may be causing you this problem, try cutting a few lims if there is.
